Do you love french fires? I adore them. In fact, I can have never met a potato I didn’t adore. So many potatoes, so little time. I love them mashed, roasted, scalloped, hashed. I love them in salads, as a side dish, or a main course.

Years ago, during the carb avoidance craze, I cheated by chowing on potatoes. Little did I know then, potatoes weren’t my enemy, it was the meat and dairy products I was consuming. Older, and wiser, I now relish in potatoes.

I bought a variety of potatoes at the Eastern Market this weekend. Purple, red sweet potatoes, white sweet potatoes, Idaho potatoes; the more the merrier.

Despite already owning a spiralizer, Paul and I purchased a Wolf Gang Puck Spiralizer from the Home Shopping Network the other day. I don’t usually shop from the television, but this spiralizer is electric and has a holding container. It also very neatly stacks within itself, so I was sold. I love kitchen gadgets! And, yes, I have a lot of them. Luckily my husband loves my food, so the more gadgets, the more food he eats.

I used a variety of potatoes and spiraled them in my new Wolfgang Puck Spiralizer. Then, I soaked them in water for about 30 minutes to remove additional starch from the potatoes. The seasoning also sticks well.

I seasoned them with Cayenne, but you can choose any seasoning you like. Not only were these curly fries pretty, they don’t have any added fat.

I made as Sriracha ketchup to dip them in. POTATO YUM!

Spiral Potatoes

Leave the skin on, and use a spiralizer to spiral potatoes.
Put into a bowl of cold water.
Rinse and drain.

Cook

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking pan with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Make a single layer of spirals.
Sprinkle with seasoning.
Cook for 30 minutes.

Serve

I served with Sriracha ketchup.
